Activating QR code table ordering

Generate per-table QR codes, test the customer flow, configure Stripe payments. BipOrder's flagship feature in 5 steps.

QR code table ordering is the heart of BipOrder. Customers scan a code on the table, browse your menu, order and pay from their phone. Servers save time, the kitchen receives orders in real time.

1. Prepare your tables

Go to Floor > Tables. For each table, create an entry with its number and capacity (seats). BipOrder automatically generates a unique QR per table.

Tip: use your existing numbering (T1, T2, T3 or Room1-T1, Room1-T2...). Consistent with what your servers say and easier to debrief after service.

2. Generate and print your QR codes

From Floor > Tables, click "Download QR codes" to get a print-ready PDF (1 QR per A6 page, with the table number). You can also customise the design: logo, colours, welcome message.

  • Print on transparent sticker for wooden tables.
  • Plexi sign for outdoor terraces (rainproof).
  • Cardboard coaster for bars.

3. Configure Stripe payments

To let customers pay online, connect your Stripe account: Settings > Payments > Connect Stripe. Allow 5 minutes to create or link an existing Stripe account.

BipOrder uses Stripe Connect: you're paid directly to your bank account (T+2 business days in EU). BipOrder never holds your funds.

  • Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay
  • Bancontact (Belgium)
  • iDEAL (Netherlands)

4. Test the customer flow

  1. Scan one of your QR codes with your phone.
  2. Check the menu displays correctly with photos and prices.
  3. Add 2-3 products to the cart.
  4. Go to checkout with a Stripe test card (4242 4242 4242 4242).
  5. Verify the order lands on your KDS / dashboard.

In test mode, switch Stripe to "Test mode" from your Stripe dashboard. Otherwise the 4242 test card will be declined. Remember to switch back to live mode before opening.

5. Brief your team

Your servers need to understand the new flow: customers order themselves, servers confirm at the KDS if needed and bring the dishes. No more order-taking, no more input errors.

Usage modes

  • Order + online payment (default)
  • Order without payment (pay at the counter / cash register)
  • Read-only menu (digital menu only, no ordering)

Each mode is set per table or globally in Settings > Order modes.
