Connect Zelty to QR ordering, kiosks and delivery

Zelty is a great POS for restaurants. Many operators run on it and have no reason to switch — fair enough. But Zelty alone doesn't cover everything: no native QR table ordering, no built-in kiosk, no aggregation of Uber Eats / Deliveroo orders into a unified KDS.

Good news: you don't have to choose. Here's how to connect Zelty to a QR ordering module, a kiosk and your delivery platforms, without breaking your existing setup.

The Zelty + customer ordering ecosystem: where Zelty stops

Zelty does very well what it's built for:

  • Compliant payment processing (NF525 in France)
  • Product, option and recipe management
  • Simple floor plan, table transfers
  • Accounting and tax reporting
  • Partner integrations (Tiller, Sumup, etc.)

But Zelty doesn't ship a modern customer-facing front:

  • No QR table ordering with built-in payment
  • No standalone kiosk (third-party only)
  • No unified KDS aggregating delivery platforms
  • No integrated customer website + mobile app

That's where a front module on top of Zelty makes sense.

How the Zelty + BipOrder integration works

The integration uses Zelty's official API (Bearer key + restaurant ID). Here's the flow:

1. Catalogue sync

On connection, BipOrder imports your Zelty categories, products, options and prices. A background sync then mirrors any change you make in Zelty (new dish, price change, removed product) within 5 minutes.

2. Order push to Zelty

When a customer orders via QR, kiosk or delivery:

  • DELIVERY / TAKEAWAY: order pushed to Zelty on creation, your POS prints it or shows it in the Zelty KDS straight away
  • DINE_IN: order pushed to Zelty on payment, which lets you split the bill between guests without cluttering the POS

Customer options (cooking, sauce, allergens) are forwarded as detailed kitchen notes.

3. Payment status

Payment status (card, cash, Apple Pay) flows back into Zelty for accounting. Sales stay recorded in Zelty (NF525) — BipOrder is an order intake channel, not a parallel cash register.

Real-world use cases

Sit-down restaurant with QR ordering

Customers scan a QR code on the table, see the menu (multilingual, photos, allergens), order and pay. Orders land in the kitchen via your existing Zelty KDS or the BipOrder KDS. Result: 30% less service time on average, 15% higher average ticket (customers add desserts they wouldn't have ordered from a waiter).

Fast food with kiosks

One or more BipOrder kiosks connect to your Zelty. Customers order self-serve, pay at the kiosk or counter, and orders flow straight into Zelty for the kitchen. Perfect for absorbing lunch peaks without extra hires.

Restaurant with delivery

Your Uber Eats and Deliveroo orders land in the BipOrder KDS (no more separate tablets) and are auto-replicated into Zelty for accounting. You can also run your own in-house delivery (with or without Uber Direct as carrier).

How much does it cost?

The Zelty integration is included in all BipOrder paid plans from Pro (€99/month). No setup fees, no per-order commission. Your Zelty contract stays unchanged.

What the integration does NOT do (deliberately)

BipOrder does not replace Zelty and isn't trying to. You keep your POS for what it does well. Sales stay recorded and declared in Zelty. BipOrder only adds modern ordering channels (QR, kiosk, delivery, customer app) that push their sales into Zelty automatically.

If you're running Zelty and looking to add QR table ordering or a kiosk without switching POS, the BipOrder + Zelty integration is configured in 5 minutes from your dashboard.
